Professional soccer team Ulsan HD barely regained first place after a fierce battle with Pohang Steelers in the third East Coast derby of the season, in which a total of 9 goals were scored.

Ulsan defeated Pohang 5-4 in a fierce battle in the 29th round home game of the Hana Bank K League 1 2024 held at Ulsan Munsu Stadium on the 31st.

Ulsan, with two consecutive wins, has accumulated 51 points, pushing out Gangwon FC (50 points) and reclaiming first place.

Pohang has fallen into a five-game losing streak.

They remained stagnant at 44 points and ranked 6th.

The two teams secured their places in the finals in the second leg of the Korea Cup semi-finals held during the week, and in the East Coast derby held as a 'preview of the Korea Cup final', Ulsan took the lead.

As soon as the game started, Ulsan called out 'General' and Pohang 토토 immediately responded with a 'Menggun', leading to a heated attack battle.

Arabidze, who wore the Ulsan uniform during the summer transfer market, scored his debut goal with a fantastic left-footed free kick in just his second K-League appearance in the 5th minute of the first half.

Pohang, who had been attacking Ulsan's right flank, also immediately scored a goal to make up for it.

In the 9th minute of the first half, Hong Yun-sang ran towards the goal and easily finished off a perfect cutback by Jeong Jae-hee.

Ulsan started to dominate the game by dominating the midfield with strong pressure, and took the lead again in the 36th minute of the first half thanks to Arabidze's 'golden left foot'.

Arabidze completed his multi-goal with a sharp left-footed shot from the right penalty area that found the far corner of the goal.

In the 12th minute of the second half, Yago, in front of the goal, pushed a cutback from Ko Seung-beom on the left side into the corner of the opposite goal with his left foot, taking a step further.

Yago has scored in three consecutive recent matches, including the Korea Cup against Gwangju.

Pohang's Hwang In-jae dove, but the ball left Arabidze's left foot and went straight into the upper corner of the goal.
